What began as an idea shared with her grandmother became something much bigger — a way for Emiah to honor her roots, her family, and the people who have trusted her with their hair.

From Jamaica, to Florida, to Houston — the roots run deep.

 

MEET THE FOUNDER

For Emiah, hair has always been personal.

Emiah began doing hair in Florida before bringing her craft to Houston, with her journey also taking her behind the chair in New York. As her clientele grew, so did an idea that had once been shared with her grandmother: to create something of her own that could carry their family legacy forward.

Her connection to hair is personal, too. From a pixie cut, to a fro, to wearing her hair out and watching it grow through different seasons, Emiah understands that hair is more than a style. It's part of how we express ourselves, care for ourselves, and carry our story.

Inspired by where her roots began.

Drawing inspiration from her Jamaican heritage and the wisdom passed through generations, Emiah created Senovia with her grandmother at the heart of its story.

What started as an idea between family became a product created for the people — inspired by the clients who trusted her, the journey that shaped her, and a desire to help others embrace their own growth.

Senovia isn't simply about growing hair. It's about honoring where you come from while nurturing where you're going.
